Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime - The Original Text

Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime - The Original TextThe Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Marjorie Shackleford was originally published in 1943 and has been a perennial winner for best children's book. You can find copies of the original text in second hand bookstores and libraries or you can read it online free. There are different ways to read the story and explore the mystery of dog versus his owner. In the story, a dog named Toby is lost in the night time and finds himself the victim of a vicious attack by a neighbor's pooch. Toby lives in a small house on a street full of other dogs and is well fed and loved by the family and the neighborhood. All goes well until one day the neighbors' dog comes out in the dark, steals Toby, and disappears into the night. The story is told by the town elder who takes us on a journey with Toby as he goes out into the cold and rainy night to look for his lost friend. There are many essay topics for this story.'What if an a nimal or a human could talk? What if the dog only used his barking to warn people of danger and not because he was making some kind of statement?'In the story, an older woman named Polly wakes up in the morning to find her window broken and no trace of her husband. She tries to get up but finds herself unable to lift her arm. She finally gets up and leaves for the town to seek help for her husband. But instead of help, she finds herself at the bottom of a deep, dark creek bed where a huge stone dike keeps her locked in. She soon realizes that she is trapped in a very deep, dark pool of water and cannot get out.In the story, 'Twilight,' we see the dog 'Blue' who stays up all night doing his business. His owner can no longer keep him inside because he is too big. He stands on the roof of his master's house and lights it on fire. When the fire spreads throughout the house, a panic begins to spread. The family has no choice but to leave.'What if the animal that would be hunting in the d ark didn't need a torch to do so?' I asked. I pointed to the poodle, scratching in the dirt, whose tail went through the tall grass like a sailboat with wind in its hair, shining in the moonlight. In 'The Mystery of the Dog in the Nighttime,' I presented essay topics on: Dogs in society; First paragraph; Siblings and morality; The evening element and the night; The mystery of the dog in the night time; Adoption; and lastly, several outline essay topics that include and explore various literary and educational meanings of the story. As I read through the stories I got a lot of ideas for book projects. I hope these essay topics are helpful to you. I also hope they inspire you to read the story yourself.'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime' is my favorite of the Curious Incident series. You can choose to read the story through, the beginning or the end, or from beginning to end and then to read chap ter by chapter as I have done. I recommend this story to all readers.
